After 33 years of marriage, we know that friendship and communication are essential keys to a healthy relationship. When you court the right way, your marriage is built on a strong foundation of true love, honor and respect.

Abstinence requires your fear, love, and respect for God.
2 Timothy 2:22 says “ stay away from the evil things a young person like you typically wants to do. Do your best to live right and to have faith, love, and peace, together with others who trust in the Lord with pure hearts.” What this means is if we care more about being pure with the pure heart, you’re a representation of God and Jesus Christ and you should be able to attract and surround yourself with others who are as well. That will cultivate discipline, trusting God, emulating Christ and honoring God with the body. Remember, purity brings out your REAL natural beauty.

Abstinence is something that takes great maturity, self control, and true perseverance. One must remember that everything God puts in place as sacred and holy, the enemy will ultimately try to flip it diminishing its value. As a Christian, despite any social climate or trend, abstinence is more than not indulging in sexual activity, but it’s allowing you to tap fully into all that God has placed inside you keeping that essential promise to Him. Yes, temptation is real but just as in 1 Corinthians 10:13, God will never put more on you than you can bear always providing a way of escape. Keeping yourself is a gift that truly won’t ever go out of style, because in the end a rarity will always outlast a counterfeit. Trust God sees and knows it all, and in His timing He’ll literally walk you through every critical point in your life.

Pastor Charles Lockett, Jr.

Pastor Charles Lockett, Jr.: Having a partner who is faithful is a prerogative of marriage. Fidelity should be considered one of the pillars of marriage. It is as necessary as spiritual, emotional, and financial support. Faithfulness communicates to your spouse “You are MORE than enough”.

Elder Anthony & Sonia Robinson

Godly dating is an obtainable standard. We instituted a vow to maintain a God-first perspective throughout our courtship. As a result, we erected boundaries and parameters to ensure that we would not undermine each other’s positions of Biblical purity. As a result, we refrained from kissing while dating. We experienced our first kiss after being pronounced husband and wife. 15 years later, with three beautiful children, and a thriving marriage, we have no regrets and remain a testament that God honors faithfulness.
